Commemorative Website
This site remains as a keepsake of the finest restaurant I've ever known.
Chef James Terry is now at the Captain Merry in East Dubuque, Illinois, just 15 miles west of Galena.
We thoroughly recommend that you seek him out there!

Thank you for joining us. Our reason for having a restaurant is our passion for fresh foods of real quality. It has been our focus from the beginning and has remained so for eight years. The fact that you understand what we are trying to accomplish here is the thing that goads us on.
Your dinner is produced using the best possible ingredients, many of which are not easily obtained in this region From the organically grown tomatoes in the house-made salsa that begins your evening, to our truly free-range, naturally raised meats. All sauces, soups and desserts are made in this building. Spices are freshly ground daily. Meat stocks begin with carbon filtered well-water, roasted bones, vegetables, herbs and good wine. They are simmered long in stainless pots. Many of the grains, beans, vegetables and dairy items we use are certified organic and some are locally produced.
Trends and themes will come and go but food prepared freshly and carefully will always be in favor with people who see dining out as an experience to be savored.
